Sotbrand
The soot that settled over books, furniture, and photographs in the home of Gunnar Smoliansky’s friend, Claes Bäckström, creates a new, almost dreamlike space. Smoliansky’s quiet, precise photographs capture these traces with the same attentiveness that defines his entire body of work. What might have been destruction becomes here a meditation on materiality, light, shadow, and the unexpected poetry of everyday life.
