Gunnar photographed the Children series from the mid-1950s to the mid-1960s. During this period, he worked as an industrial photographer, and after the workday ended he wandered through Södermalm with his camera. In the children’s games, movements, and glances, he found his subjects. The photographs were published in the book Children in 1982.
